62nd Alcohol Problems Research Symposium March 28th & 29th 2007

Stonecross Manor Hotel, Milnthorpe Road, Kendal, Cumbria LA9 5HP, United Kingdom.


I have pleasure in enclosing details of the next meeting in this long-running series of informal events. 24-hour cost of attendance will be £105 (single room) and £90 per person (double room). This covers lunch, tea/coffee, dinner and overnight accommodation on Wednesday, March 28th and breakfast, morning coffee/tea on Thursday March 29th. Those wishing to have lunch at the hotel on the 29th are welcome to do so for an extra charge of £13. Payment should, as usual, not be sent to me, even though I book people into the hotel for these meetings. Participants are requested to pay their own hotel bills. I hope that you and any of your colleagues who are engaged in alcohol research will be able to attend. If you do plan to do so, please write, fax or e-mail me indicating your exact accommodation and dietary requirements (including whether or not you would like lunch on November 2nd) not later than Wednesday, February 27th, 2007. Please let me know if you are aware of any alcohol researchers who should be added to the mailing list for these meetings. The Stonecross Manor Hotel is a comfortable, attractive, stone building situated about a mile from the centre of Kendal. It is on the A6. It was opened as an orphanage in 1857. The hotel is wheelchair-friendly and has good parking facilities and an indoor swimming pool. Mainline intercity trains stop at nearby Oxenholme. This is less than two miles from the hotel. Taxis are available to complete the trip @ roughly £4-60p each way. Some trains from Manchester go into Kendal, but Oxenholme is closer to the hotel. I hope very much that you will be able to attend this meeting and I look forward to seeing you in November.
