WHITE PAPERS: Recovery Research and Case Studies

Advancing recovery-oriented approaches and fostering the development of recovery-oriented systems of care is one of the priorities of SAMHSA’s Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT).

In support of that goal, CSAT posted online four research-based white papers on recovery-related topics that include case studies and lessons learned from the experiences of cities and states developing recovery-oriented systems of care.

They are:

Guiding Principles and Elements of Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care: What do we know from the research? (PDF 856KB)

Approaches to Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care at the State and Local Levels: Three Case Studies (PDF 317KB)

Provider Approaches to Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care: Four Case Studies (PDF 361KB)

Access to Recovery (ATR) Approaches to Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care: Three Case Studies (PDF 376KB)
