The 3rd proramme of the European Graduate School in Addiction Research (ESADD)


ESADD was developed to provide a comprehensive and high-level education in research on substance use disorders for PhD/MD students from all over Europe. For 2011-2012 we offer the second two-year postgraduate training course for PhD/MD candidates who strive for excellence in addiction research. The course provides participants with an advanced educational experience, covering state-of-the-art science in addiction research, e.g. aetiology, neurobiology, disease pattern, epidemiology, prevention, treatment, Public Health and policy aspects as well as the training of academic skills:

  • State-of-the-art academic knoweldge on SU and SUD

  • Research methodology

  • Current research trends and controversies (e.g. pathological gambling)

  • Publishing guidelines and ethical standards
  • Academic skills
